This year we had stories in trios.

We began with Te Reo Māori. Told by Legendary Lorraine! Te Reo Māori is one of the two official languages in New Zealand this year our story was a legend local to Otēpoti (that’s Dunedin) Lorraine was a first time storyteller for us and did a fabulous job teaching us about the history of our home.  Ehara koe i a ia!

Next up Portuguese as regaled by Roberta the Resplendent from Dunedin by way of Brazil. Roberta is a return teller told us the tale of a girl who fell in love with the moon. If you haven’t seen Roberta tell stories you are missing out! Obrigado, Roberta.

Then we were graced by Ines the Engaging with a story from Burundi told in Kirundi. Draped in a green scarf Ines told a story about wisdom and power. If you’re a lover of stories you’ll know by now they aren’t the same. Urakoze, Ines for sharing your language and culture with us.

But wait there’s more….
